Literature Text

I've always noticed that gleam in your eye,
It's my hint that you still care.
Although it tries to make me smile,
It hardly seals this tear
Where my heart used to be. It sickens me
To know that you still care.
Don't you dare hold my hand
And tell me it's alright.
All I ask is that you see the world
Through my eyes, tonight.
Don't be shocked, don't act surprised
If you don't like what you see.
For soon you'll find that, behind my eyes,
You were never there for me.
You never cared for me.
